Stick With Your Resolutions

by Wolf Benedict on January 25, 2010

Just a friendly reminder to honor what you committed to at the beginning of the year. There is no more an important time to honor your resolutions than now.

Statistically speaking, most people quit around now or have already quit. Whether it is new eating habits, getting out of the house more, dropping cigarettes – this is the time to kick your efforts into the highest gear imaginable.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to keep you within the groove. Take 15 minutes out of your busy day and truly ask yourself these questions. Go get a pen and paper. Think on them for a few minutes and write your answers down.

What good is a resolution if you don’t follow through?

What will it cost me if I don’t stick with my resolution?

What will it cost me emotionally? Financially? Health-wise? Relationship-wise?

If I don’t stick with it and meet my goal, how will I feel?

If I DO stick with my resolution, how will I feel?

How will I be rewarded by my efforts?

These questions can yield powerful answers quickly. Write them down and read them to yourself every day upon waking up and before you go to sleep. You will be more than motivated to meet your resolution.

Above all, persist. Never give up!

If the yield to maturity is 6%, that would be 3% on a semi-annual basis; then solve for PV based on the following: FV = 1,000 and 38 semi-annual coupons of $35.

Then the PV or current price of the bond is $1,112.46

Two great things happened when we stayed there. First, when we checked in some guy who was checking out had just left a museum pass with a full day on it with reception, so the friendly guy at reception gave it to us. Second, we drank beer in the courtyard, and it was awesome.

You could try taking the vitamin melatonin or valerian root which you won't get addicted to, but if you're taking prescription sleep aids there is a good chance it wouldn't help.

Catholics celebrate it as the Circumcision of Jesus, and it is a Holy Day of Obligation, which means Mass is required. Or at least it was when I was being raised in a Catholic home in the 1960's.

Refresh rate depends on the monitor's make, monitor's resolution, video card (if installed) or on-board video chip (if included in the motherboard).

You should consult display [monitor] and video card manuals before changing the settings to determine the supported refresh rates. Most users swear that increased refresh rate decreases flickering, thus reducing eye strain due to better picture quality. Microsoft caution users that if the specified refresh rate is beyond what is recommended for the monitor, damage to the display, thus the monitor, can occur

On smaller CRT monitors (~<14") are set comfortably at 60–72 Hz. On larger CRT monitors (~>17") most are set to a more comfortable 85 Hz or higher. 100 Hz is comfortable for almost any size. However, LCD monitors refresh rate would more accurately be referred to as frame rate in their case (often locked at 60Hz).

The refresh rate can be calculated from the horizontal scan rate by dividing by the number of horizontal lines and multiplying the result by 0.95 (since about 5% of the time it takes to scan the screen is spent moving the electron beam back to the top). For instance, a monitor with a horizontal scanning frequency of 96 kHz at a resolution of 1280 × 1024 results in a refresh rate of 96,000 / 1024 × 0.95 = 89 Hz (rounded down).

I got married 32, almost 40 now and things are still great, i think a lot of ppl that get married a little later not only have a better idea of what they want in a marriage but also are more open with their partners ahead of time with what these expectations are. At least this is how I felt: if I got married in my twenties, I would be on marriage # 2

Financial aid would be based on yours and your husband's income for dental school and him working on his masters. Marriage, age, and graduate school are considerations for being considered independent of your parents' income. I have included a reading on qualifications to be considered an independent student of your parents' income.

While U.S. men and women put their lives at risk in Iraq, the MPAA has queried the military about the pirating habits of the soldiers stationed there. A declassified document from United States Central Command confirms that the MPAA is fighting a war of its own in the Middle East, one against copyright infringing soldiers.

fats do make you fat, so eating 300 grams of fat a day will make you loose weight? than eating 300 grams of carbs a day? if your eating 300 grams of fruit and veggie carbs that will make you loose weight. fat slows down digestion and makes you get pimples in excess.

It’s hard to know who’s poor in America, says Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson. But he’s damn sure that the new poverty measure the Census Bureau plans to develop will mislead us. In fact, it will be, as the Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector has said, a “propaganda tool” to promote “spread the wealth” schemes. Everyone, as the late Sen. Daniel Moynihan said, is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts. Samuelson’s “facts” are a misleading mixture of opinion, distortion and downright misstatement. Let’s start with Samuelson’s definition of poverty. “Low income matters,” he says. But “poverty is also a mind-set that fosters self-defeating behavior.” In other words, things like “bad work habits,” drug and/or alcohol addition and the breakdown of the traditional family aren’t factors that cause some people to become or remain poor. They’re inherent in the condition of poverty — unlike the “bad luck” of accidents, job losses and disability. So, contrary to the rest of…
