How to Tear Open the Article Writing Floodgates and Create Hard-Hitting Content In Minutes, Part 3

by Wolf Benedict on December 1, 2009

This is the final part of creating hard hitting content in minutes – and overcoming writer’s block just as quickly. Pretty nice bonus, huh?

In the most previous article (here: http://www.30daymarketingblog.com/?p=284 ), we went over points 4 through 7 below. And previous to that, we went over 1 through 3. We will be going over the final three, 8 through 10 in this article.

Here are all of the points for your reference:

1) Realize it doesn’t need to be a huge posting.

2) It doesn’t need to be a thesis or masterpiece.

3) Take a small break.

4) Looking around.

5) Read articles.

6) Write a “twist” topic.

7) One on one.

8 ) Are you opinionated?

So ask yourself, are you opinionated? Honestly. Do you find it hard not to chime in when there is an interesting topic being discussed?

If not, then you may want to consider sharing more of your point of view on things. If you have temporarily exhausted your niche-specific topics, then try sharing an opinion on something. It could be an affiliate product, an article you read, a website, or anything in general.

Points to consider when sharing your opinion:

  1. Do not come off as negative or disparaging. As tempting as it may be for you to bash someone you feel is inferior to your skills, it doesn’t help anybody (including yourself) to do them harm. If you MUST show dissent, be civil, open-minded and realize that opinions are not facts. They may be strongly held convictions, but they are yours and yours alone.
  2. Share your opinion on your niche-related topics. However, this isn’t to say you can’t occasionally delve into semi-related (or even totally unrelated) topics once in a while. For example, if your blog is about fishing and you suddenly decide you want to talk about volcanic activity, do so. However, I’d prepare your readers with a transition so they feel comfortable with what you are talking about and it makes sense to what you are writing. It’s most effective when you can relate the two together, e.g. “You know, I was out fishing the other day and there was this glorious red snapper on the beach next to me. Just made me think of the lava that flows out of the volcanoes of Hawaii… by the way, did you know that lava…” etc.
  3. Unless your blog is specifically targeted to certain niches or you are a reporter, I’d suggest steering clear of talking about politics, religion, abortion, sex, or war. The charged topics have their place. If you are keeping a blog about knitting, be smart! These subjects probably have no place in your realm of blogging or writing. If you really must broach these topics, do it with tact. Personally, I’d avoid them altogether.
  4. Be honest. Don’t tell your readers what you think they want to hear just because you think it’ll get them to hand over their wallets. Honesty is priceless. If you don’t believe me, read “Just Say No to Money – Wisdom From the Muffler Guy“.

9) The Power of Previous articles.

Let’s say all of these tips so far haven’t done it for you and you are STILL stuck. If you’ve already written article, go back and re-read them. Doing so will help galvanize your thoughts and spark your creativity, allowing you to come up with more subjects you can talk about.

Don’t have your own articles? Read others as described in the previous parts of this series.

10) The “Spread” technique.

I like this one. It takes a bit of forethought, but can help you to create numerous articles.

Look at what I’ve done with several different writings on this site. In more than a few instances, I’ve separated them into parts (part 1, part 2, part 3, etc). Instead of writing one HUUUGE article, I’ve spread them out into different, more manageable sections. This is a good thing for several reasons:

  1. It gives you more content, or the appearance of more content, which establishes you as an expert or authority. Just remember it should be about quality, not necessarily quantity.
  2. It can be more manageable for your time. Writing one small article per day can be more efficient than writing a huge thesis-like doctorate thing for 3 hours straight.
  3. Your readers will look forward to the next installment you have, keeping them coming back to your site for more.
  4. You create more activity on your site, more content, and Google and the other search engines love this.
  5. Your readers will be able to digest more in smaller bites. Rather than be overwhelmed by your thesis, they can enjoy bite-sized chunks of info. Easy digestion.
  6. If you have managed to automate your blog and have it syndicated to free services like Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, Youtube, etc., you get more exposure on a more consistent basis. This can only work for you if you know what you are doing.

So you see – all of these tips, if applied, will help you crank out the goods with little effort. The key is consistency. Sometimes consistency is restrained by writer’s block, but you now have the techniques to overcome that.

So, my internet marketing friend, get crackin’! Start creating your home-based masterpieces and make Shakespeare jealous!

YES. There is a chance you will not be approved if you tell them of your convictions, but if you do not they will find out and you will DEFINATELY be denied. I reccommend you come clean and take your chances.

Yes but since it's so hard to prove that you were actually discriminated against that probably wouldn't detour the potential employer from doing it.

XIPM3, stop acting like everybody from the “ghetto” knows about real life, and the rest of us haven’t a clue. Some of those people who are beaten, molested, raped, born into poverty, ostracized, rejected, and terrorized grow up to become teachers. Trust me. I’m a teacher. All I knew was that I wanted to live. Is that good enough for you? Now, will you sit down, get out your scantron and pencil, and shut up?

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the D.C. I would simply recommend positioning yourself to be the authority in the niche.
1. Determine how big your focus is: the neighborhood? the city? the region? worldwide?
2. Research your competitiors. What are they doing right? What could they be doing better? Talk to niche leaders who are outside of your target area, and see if they will answer some of your questions.
3. Write a business plan outlining the process you plan to use to make yourself the top of the game. What is your competitive advantage?
4. Take your business plan to mentors. A good place to start is SCORE.org.

Ah yes, a reminder that there are other volcanoes erupting around the world than Eyjafjallajökull – but yes, it is true! Here is the latest USGS/Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program Weekly Volcanic Activity Report! Highlights (not including Iceland) include: Another volcano in the Kuril Islands of Russia is showing signs of, well, something. Ketoi was noticed to be experiencing increased fumarolic activity according to satellite images. Ketoi hosts a Pleistocene caldera but has had three historic eruptions over the last few centuries, most recently in 1960, and all of which were explosive events around VEI 2. It has been a busy spring at El Reventador in Ecuador, where ash plumes up to 5.2 km (17,000 feet) and small lahars were noted. Another new entry into the report was Aoba in Vanuatu. Increased activity and a possible plume were noted, along with over 3,000 ton of sulfur dioxide being emitted per day. Aoba is actually a basaltic shield volcano with a summit lake filling the…

Thank God that they did not give him the death penalty because in 15 years he could have been another statistic of our corrupt and UN justly legal system. I love to hear when innocent people our exonerated, but it just cringes me to the bones to think of how many go un-noticed and how many our put to death. When we have a legal system that will put an innocent person to death or in jail for life while the real killer walks free the system must be shaken off its foundation.

Heavy water is tritium-bearing. Tritium is a radioactive isotope. typically it is not present in primordial volcanic gases. The presence of tritium in some fumaroles (volcanic vents) is attributed to the in-mixing of surface-derived fluids.

At least that is the thinking. The heavy water (from the surface where the hydrogen is irradiated) is constantly ("frequently") being mixed in ("replaced") in small to moderate amounts.

I'm in HR and do background checks on all new hires. The #1 thing is this… he MUST disclose it. An employment application is a legal document and if he witholds or distorts info, that alone can be grounds for termination (or never getting the job).

I would suggest he say "2002, driving related, will disuss in person"

We hire people with DUI's… If driving is not a part of their job responsibilities, no worries. If driving is a part of his line of work, I think it best he avoid those types of opportunities.
