How to Tear Open the Article Writing Floodgates and Create Hard-Hitting Content In Minutes

by Wolf Benedict on November 28, 2009

Okay, let’s get into the real nitty gritty stuff now.

If you are an internet marketer, you undoubtedly know the importance of writing articles, keeping a blog and updating your Facebook or Twitter page.

I’m going to share with you several powerful tips and strategies (in several different parts, subscribe to be updated when they are published) you can use to start generating an endless stream of creativity when it comes to article marketing.

I write AT LEAST one per day now that I work full time from home because I know how important it is to pump out consistent, no-nonsense content that readers benefit from in a major way.

If it’s not that, then it’s video. And once you get rolling, the articles and posts just seem to come out of nowhere. You are truly in “flow”.

But face it.

Sometimes we get stuck as writers and marketers, don’t we?

We all suffer from dreaded writer’s block at one point or another. “What do I do next” is the question.

Sometimes we’ll sit staring at the computer screen for half an hour, completely blanked out, not knowing what to write next that doesn’t sound exactly the same as what we had written before.

So, if this is you, if you find yourself struggling to conjure up your timeless masterpiece, keep these tips in mind. I will go over each in more detail in subsequent blog posts.

1) Realize it doesn’t need to be a huge posting.

A simple update will do just fine. This is why Twitter is great. It’s microblogging and you are forced to say your message in 140 characters or less. Your update could have to do with something you are working on that will benefit your audience. I prefer updates like that – something that involves my readership.

For example:

I was talking to one of my network marketing friends about MLM. Personally, it’s not for me, too saturated an idea. What do you guys think?

It’s a simple update. You are providing social proof (talking with someone else), providing an opinion and asking people to chime in with their opinions. It’s very hard for people to resist sharing their opinions. :-)

It is also quite brief and to the point.

Note that you shouldn’t make every one of your blog posts this brief. Don’t become “Twitterized”. You must supply a deeper breadth of content on a consistent basis. This abbreviated technique should only be used when you are truly stuck and are having trouble thinking of what to write.

On to the next tip…

2) It doesn’t need to be a thesis or masterpiece.

Similar to #1 above, you don’t need to be Shakespeare or David Copperfield or other masters of literary perfection in your posts. It doesn’t need to sound like a phD on astronomical economics. Sound like yourself, speak in your own voice.

In fact, writing like you talk can work in your favor.

I once saw a website run by a guy who obviously was no spring chicken. He was a master piano tuner, kinda gruff, and it came through in his webpage.

The thing is, his gruffness ADDED to the charm of his webpage. It made it sparkle with personality. Plus, the gruffness added to an overall vibe of honesty, which readers appreciate.

Kinda nice to know you now have permission to cut down the waffling, right? :-)

3) Take a small break.

Ahhh, this one can be harder to do for two reasons. First, if you are a workaholic like me, taking a break feels like a guilt trip. I feel guilty, I admit it! But I do it anyway because I know my brain needs it.

Secondly, many folks take breaks that are too long. They become distracted by the telly or other snazzy websites.

If you avoid those pitfalls and strike a balance between work and break (play), you’ll find yourself getting MUCH more done in a satisfying way.

Get away from the computer screen. Do something totally different. And have fun while you’re at it.

I will go into many more tips you can start using today in future blog posts. Here is a succinct preview of the other tips to come. Note that they ambiguous on purpose. Wanna keep a little mystery going. :-)

4) Looking around.

5) Read articles.

6) Write a “twist” topic.

7) One on one.

8) Are you opinionated?

9) The Power of Previous articles.

10) The “Spread” technique.

Until the next blog post…

Article marketing, which is also called bum marketing in the online world, is a great way to drive traffic to your site and get backlinks, which are very important as well. Some people think that simply throwing up a random article onto an article directory will do them good, but there are specific things that you need to do with your articles in order to make them profitable.

First, don't submit your articles to directories that don't have some sort of Google juice or it will be a waste of your time. Directories like ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com are a good place to start. A page rank of at least 4 or 5 should be a requirement for the articles.

Next, do your research on your keywords. What keywords do you want to be ranked for? You can use Google Adwords tools and other keyword tools to find the best keywords for your site. Optimize your articles for those keywords but don't have them used more than 2% of the time, or most directories will reject them.

Also, be sure that your article resource box is filled out properly as this is the way that you get backlinks and have people click through to your money site. If you are not a very good writer or it takes you over an hour to write an article, you may want to consider outsourcing your writing to speed up the process and to make your articles sound professional.

Sterling,
It is good for SEO because you bring a lot of eye balls to your blog or your site. You drive traffic by using that article of yours. The more people read it, the more traffic you are going to get. That is why you submit your article to a set of article directory. It is like you do the advertisement to a large population or geography, so to speak. Once you have a lot of traffic, the big search engine like Google would think that your site is popular and providing good service to a lot of people (community) that are interested in your service. However, you must have a great content to begin with and a great content is a keyword rich article that is related to what the readers are looking for. It must provide benefits to readers or your audience.

If you want to learn a short version on how to drive traffic, visit

I hope my answer would help

“One thing that really annoys me is seeing an interesting title and a friendly avatar on Friendfeed and clicking through to find something written by someone else. Not because I don’t want to read something written by someone else, but because my decision to click through was based on assumptions about who the author was.”

ok. first of all, shut off the computer. then, don't turn it back on. instead, call up one of your friends, and go hang out. go to the movies, join a club or activity, start a nature walk group.
Other people don't care what your standings are on facebook, because if you're not like how you act on facebook in real life, then they might not want to be your friend anymore because you gave out false impressions. basically, no good relationship can come from the internet these days. especially with all the wackos out there. if you want to become popular, then you need to spend time with people. not the computer.

The Early Music Guild presents the world renowned Italian opera company La Venexiana in a staged and costumed opera performance of Monteverdi’s timeless masterpiece. Touring from Italy with Italian soloists, chorus, and 30-piece period instrument orchestra, this production has garnered ecstatic reviews throughout Europe, and won the Editor’s Choice award in England’s prestigious Gramophone magazine.

Composed in 1607, L’Orfeo was both Monteverdi’s first music drama and Europe’s first great operatic masterpiece. It retells the story of the musician Orpheus and his quest to bring his beloved Eurydice back from the depths of the Underworld through the enchanting power of his music. L’Orfeo portrays love, grief, courage, doubt, and eternal devotion through Monteverdi’s exquisite combination of vocal and orchestral splendor, madrigal, and dance.

One of my favorite sayings is that

"We Enjoy the Luck We Create"

It takes awhile…an evolution of thought, trial and error , to finally realise that we choose our destiny. It's a very creative process. We don't just 'get' lucky. Armed with this power of choice, it becomes possible to make a difference. That is not a fallacy.
