Marketer Attacks Wolf Benedict In Public! Beware the Marketing TROLL!

by Wolf Benedict on December 16, 2009

The internet is full of characters. I met one the other day while browsing a forum on marketing.

First, some explanation on how most forums work. Much like email programs, you can include a signature in your forum posts after each post. And as long as it follows the forum guidelines, it can be posted. Where you create a post, the signature will appear after it.

Got it? Good.

I had posted my 11 Reasons Why Working From Home Rocks Your World (opens in new window)  to this forum, and while the response to it has been overwhelmingly positive, one unfortunate man decided he wanted to attack me and my post, essentially calling it “BS” (not Boy Scout) from the wishful thinking crowd.

Just so there is no confusion – I work full time from home and enjoy ALL of the benefits of that article. I wrote it to inspire others to the same end. Furthermore,  don’t get me wrong – I’m not playing victim here or whining about a predicament. Yuck, no way! Just hang in with me here. Back to the story.

This gentlemen accused your dear Wolf of spamming the forum with the signature link to my main website (30DayMarketing.com), as if doing so were some sort of big no-no on a forum that permitted it – a forum about marketing.

Before I continue, my dear reader, know that forum marketing is a very potent tool because you have tons of targeted people going to the same place to read your stuff. It’s a perfect venue to answer people’s questions, give and receive advice and post your own articles.

And that’s what your ever-loving Wolf was doing on this forum. I provided several articles from this blog on the site and responded to other people’s questions with solutions, ideas, and viewpoints.

In other words, I was providing value, and value, if you didn’t know, is king.

One fella didn’t think so. He accused me of creating a “classic spam thread” to promote my service. Essentially, he attacked me on this public forum for including the (microscopic) allowable signature link to my website.

The nerve of me to guide people to my website where they can learn more techniques and tips about marketing! The nerve, I say! ;-)

The odd thing I noticed about them, moreover, was they had nearly 200 posts on this forum site but not a single link to their own website, which I found VERY strange. They were essentially attacking me from the comfort of anonymity. Not very brave.

After reading this fella’s posts, I realized they were just a troll looking for an argument and not a way to improve their life. They fed off the dissent of others. Kinda have to shrug it off and move on when you meet someone like that.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not whining about how I was treated, not in the least. In fact, I believe this gentleman gave me a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership, which includes a blunt refusal to be pulled down into someone else’s drama.

It is tempting to lash back at someone after they attack you, but it can be costly. It takes discipline and wisdom to objectify yourself from someone’s attempts to dramatize you. I’ll go into this in future blog posts.

For me, because this person attacked me and my materials, I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. If I’m not creating dissent on some level, then I’m not engaging my full capacity to have others learn from me.

Make this your own mantra, your own way of living, your mentality. Be diplomatic even with those who are hostile. The person you become will be the reward.

you jerk! JUST KIDDING WOLF! :)

How could anyone attack you for writing the 11 Reasons article? Doesn’t it just make perfect sense to the home-based business nut? Great articles here, keep them coming. I come back every day to read.

There seem to be so many children running around the net these days!! people, if someone says something you dont like it’s not a reason to attack them. Take a breather, go outside then come back to the computer if someone attacks you and demonstrate leadership like Wolf did here.

Wolf,

You are spot on regarding internet trollers. I have had my own lot of them when posting on internet forums. Bottom dwellers they are, nothing better to do than shove their fists in your face.

You are completely correct when you say to demonstrate leadership in the face of such trifling behavior. I do admit it is quite tempting to lash back out as you say, but wisdom prevails.

“If you have bad credit in the new era of credit card regulation, be prepared to pay — dearly — for the privilege of using credit. That’s the message underlying recent credit card offers that feature jaw-dropping interest rates of up to 79.9 percent.

The sky-high rates may be a sign of things to come in the market for so-called subprime credit cards as issuers who lend to the riskiest of borrowers try to figure out how to stay in business and comply with the new credit card reform law.

“We need to price our product based on the risk associated with this market and allow the customer to make the decision whether they want the product or not,” according to a statement issued by Miles Beacom, CEO of Premier Bankcard, the South Dakota credit card marketer that mailed test offers in September and October featuring 79.9 percent and 59.9 percent annual percentage rates (APRs) on cards with $300 credit limits. Premier markets credit cards issued by First Premier Bank.”

Blu T, I suspect that even if in fact that is what the manager spends most of his time doing, if the engineers don’t believe the manager is “in tech” he won’t be able to manage well because the engineers will dis him–they will think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

I think there can be sooooo many interpretations of '666' that it is a job to work out which is right and which is superfluous.

I have heard that the bar coding system contains 666 in every bar code. The bible does mention the Antichrist being able to control who can sell and who can buy (something the pope has never been able to do on a worldwide basis)

And as to reading it into someones name – there may be a lot of candidates on that basis – so there will have to be other things that would qualify a person for that title. These things i am sure wont become apparent until the time is ripe – and the bible says that no one knows when that time is apart from our heavenly father.

I don't think you are whacked just a person who is (quite rightly) showing a concern for the world as it is and as it could become and i think we need more like you.

Hi been there done that. You are intermixing Bible prophecy with church predictions. It is church predictions about what number pope is the AC not a Biblical prophecy. Many have tried to determine who the 666 represents which may actually be a mis-translation and not 666 at all. Many believe it does not correlate to a name but that the number 6 means man and there are 3 of them representing the tinity = a man claiming to be God.

The year 2012 is the date the Mayan calander ends, again nothing Biblical. Many believe that this represents the final date of Christs return. The Egyptian calander ends in the year 2014.

The Bible nowhere says that God will remove the Christians from the Earth before the tribulation, this is a false church teaching to give false hope. Churches push this to convince people that they can give more $ to the church since they don't need to plan for the future, yet the preachers are setting themselves up for a comfortable retirement.

There is no actual AC. The term AC is only mentioned 5 times in the Bible and never in the book of Revelation, this is again a false church teaching. The word AC is found in 1 John 4:3, 2 John vs.7, and twice in 1 John 2:18 and in 1 John 2:22. An Ac is anyone that doesn't believe that Christ came in the flesh and they existed in Johns day. The Beast or AC, I am sure will know that Christ came in the flesh therefore not truly being an AC. Look those verses up and see for yourself, don't trust me or the church leaders. In the end times you will have a false prophet (religious leader) give power to the Beast (Beast is who people call the AC). The Beast is who 666 refers to. This may actually not even be a man but a system, but the image of the Beast will be brought to life.

Yes the star issue is correct, but we don't know that the Beast was born that day, just people getting to worked up about things that we can't change anyway.

If you are truly a truth seeker, then feel free to e-mail me through my web-site if you need more detail than this (this may be enough, I don't know). I am slow to respond though due to lack of free time but I will get back to you. I hope you find your answers.

Some groups say that the Pope is the antichrist because his alleged title of "VICARIVS FILII DEI" (Vicar of the Son of God) sums up to 666. (TO do this, get all the equivalent numbers of the letters of the said title according to the Roman numeration system).

HOWEVER, the Pope's title is "VICARIVS CHRISTI" (Vicar of Christ) and this does not amount to 666.

The prophecy of St. Malachi is widely available in the Internet. I personally have some doubts with it. But, should you wish to have faith in it, Benedict XVI may well be the penultimate pope. Then comes the antichrist then judgment.

Yes, I agree that the anti-christ woud be alive right now. Most men who are career oriented would be at their peak right in the 40's, which is how old the anti-christ would be at this time. Although the number 666 is used, it does not necessarily mean it is a mathematical calculation..the book of revelation is too sumbolic for that…it says clearly that it will be the number of a man because 6 is the number of man in the bible anyhow…adam was created on the 6th day. 666 may refer to the unholy trinity of anti-christ, false prophet, and the devil. I think his identity is cloaked at this time because if the christians figured it out they would "tell" on him…then they would get killed instead of raptured. .christians should be preparing at this time for the rapture, and not worry about who this person is….trying to identify him now, could cause alot of confusion, since we might be blaiming the wrong person, and makng ourselves look foolish…. he will most likely be the last person anyone would suspect…..

Syria might be involved in the attack on ISrael, but it is indicated that Iran will be mainly involved, which has been confirmed in the news laltely with Iran's threats agaisnt Israel. Look in Zacaharia chapter 6. Notice that the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse are predicted there…notice that they come from between 2 mountains of bronze (copper). If you do a search of the copper mines for the middle east you will find that syria has no copper mines , but Iran is loaded with them, as well as lead mines. Lead is needed to contain a radioactive warhead..Iran has 2 mountian ranges and copper in each of them. So I believe the attack aginst Irael will come from this area. Zach 5 – the flying scroll- is predictive of a nuclear attack. the woman is wickedness here, but the hebrew word can also translate as fire. So put a wicked fire in a lead container (basket), and then house it in something that is shaped like a scroll (long tubular structure). You have a missle. It says there will be a base to store these missles….now that will be in Shinar, or Syria. It look like a collaboration between Iran (with the materials) and Syria (with the ability to store and hide missle bases)

One thing is 4 sure common sense tells us this attack upon Pastor Hagin with such weak evidence as that of a FaceBook friend is not about attempting 2 prove some sort of treason but one within the dynamic u describe & this is why I couldn’t remain silent as this is detrimental to the effort in awakening our people. This is NOT more important than how our people view us,but apparently to Seti it is.Willing 2 make the upliftment or progress of our people even the more difficult
