What You Gain From Article Marketing

by Wolf Benedict on December 17, 2009

Article marketing – is it worth the work? I’ll discuss in this blog entry why it is important that you begin your article marketing campaign right away and where you can start.

EzineArticles.com is a great website to build your credibility and positioning with article marketing. Writing your stuff and posting it to EA is a perfect vehicle for several reasons:

  1. You gain credibility when people read your writings.
  2. You gain traffic to your website both through links you supply in the articles and search engine indexing.
  3. Google loves it. With the recent Google Slap, thousands upon thousands of internet-based business owners have had to reassess their position and how they market. Article marketing is looked on as a plus by Google (as long as the material is unique and not taken from somewhere else) because they look for original content in concordance with relevant  keywords.
  4. When you post your articles to your own website, the search engines notice, come back and crawl it, giving you more potential for a higher ranking.
  5. It provides a higher level of immunity against further Slaps. How? I’ll give an example.

Let’s say you’ve joined up with a company that provides you a template webpage hosted on their servers. And let’s say that there are 1000’s of other affiliates just like you who are using the same exact template page to sell whatever it is they are selling.

And furthermore, let’s say Google decides it doesn’t like that arrangement and penalizes all 1000 of those people for having similar pages as one another and starts shutting down their Pay-Per-Click accounts in one fell swoop.

Sound nutty? This is exactly what happened on a massive scale. It’s been coined the Google Slap.

Google has been cracking down on the “one page fits all” phenomenon. They now want original content from individuals, not carbon copied articles from one ambiguous source.

How does article marketing fit into this? If you update your own site or adjust your company’s template (if you are allowed to do so) with your own articles, you will gain more immunity from the Google slap. They won’t turn their noses up to you because, in their eyes, you are providing fresh, unique content.

So start writing your articles. If you aren’t a natural writer or are stuck, see my other posts for solutions to this:

P.S. As a result writing my articles at EzineArticles.com, I’ve earned “Expert Author” – another great way to build credibility in the eyes of your readers. Get to it!

The articles of confederation made the US weak by giving too much power to the states and not enough power to the central government, for instance the central government could not tax the states or the people, it could only send requests for aid from the states. There was also no separation of powers, there was no president or federal Judicial branch. Congress could not enforce its own laws and create a central military. States could almost act as mini countries making there own treaties with other states and countries as well as declaring individual war. States overall had too much power and the central too little.

Here are four basic tips for writing a great article.

First:
Whenever you choose an article topic, you should truly know your subject. Picking a topic because you think it will make you a bunch of money isn't a great idea. It is certainly possible, but try and focus on topics you know and enjoy. You don't have to be an expert, but you should feel comfortable talking about it or finding supporting information.

Second:
For research, I have my Google Reader set up so that I am constantly getting relevant updated information on my favorite topics. If you don't use an RSS reader (you really should, to save time) – then find some relevant authority sites you can visit. Try topic related forums, wikipedia, online encyclopedias, or yahoo answers to get ideas.

Next:
Follow the basic 5 paragraph supporting argument format.

Here is how you would lay the article out:
1. Opening statement – 'Here is what my article is about …'
2. First paragraph or argument
3. Second paragraph or argument
4. Final paragraph or argument
5. Restate and summarize the point of your article, including your three supporting points.
Don't forget your resource box at the end

Finally:
Seek out a peer editor. Once your article is written, have someone you trust, who has a decent writing style (and who speaks native English) read through your piece. If you don't know an English speaker, try and find a peer online, who you trust, and who will review your piece for you. Make sure their critique includes looking at your spelling and punctuation details as well. If they read it and find that it is pretty good, then you have a green light for publishing.

Those are the four most basic steps to make sure you have a publishable article. Whether you plan on publishing at ezine articles, or any other peer reviewed directory, you should cover these four points as basic essentials.

Cool! I think I got it. If I use the noun in a more specific way I don’t omit the article. But If I use it in a generic way, I do. Like…The computer is a wonder of technology. I think computers are wonders of technology. My dad and his friends think the car is a status symbol. I think the car is a status symbol. Most of the people I know thinks cars are status symbols. Ha! See? I learn very fast with your videos. They’re pretty much better than Grammars. :)

There are many elements to affiliate marketing, what's the article about?

Whats the main keyword in the article, because from a SEO point of view that should come first, or at less somewhere near the beginning.

Lets say it's just on affiliate marketing as a whole…

Affiliate Marketing The Common Man's Gold
From Affiliate Marketing Too A 7 Bedroom House
Affiliate Marketing Bought My Car
Affiliate Marketing The True Story
Why Affiliate Marketing Loves Newbies
Everyove Loves Affiliate Marketing – (Just in-side SEO)
Making It With Affiliate Marketing – (maybe just out SEO)
Affiliate Marketing To The Top
Affiliate Marketing… I can't stop the ride
Snowball Affiliate Marketing To Richies

I hope this Helps :)

Summarizing would be to give a brief, shortened version of what the articles were about (like when you read the back of a book).

Analyzing it would be to get a little more in depth about your views of the book (likes/dislikes) and what you thought was good or bad about it (kind of like a critics opinion of a movie).

Sorry to say that most people with websites create their own content and continually update as part of the routine of running a website. The web sites using syndicated content are invariably websites owned by major entities taking relevant content from other sites with the proper formal permission to do so.
Yahoo News for example use stories from various news sources because reporting news is what Yahoo! News does. An ordinary person with their own private website, reproducing a news story word for word would inevitably get into legal problems with either the newspaper, news agency or the person who originally wrote the story. Asking for permission from any of these would probably be a waste of time as an ordinary person with their own website would have no valid reason for running news stories on his site
It is unlikely an ordinary person could easily gain such permission
