Beyond all the hype surrounding »”>network marketing or succeeding in an online business, there is the alleged inescapable imposed ethic of “hard work”. Hard work is married to long hours, struggle, dismay and other undesirable feelings. However, it doesn’t have to be “hard work” in the way that we know it. I’ll explain.
I put hard work in quotes because to me, this isn’t about work, it’s about WORKING SMART. This means several different things.
First, I approach my work in a unique way. I am not “working hard” – I’m CREATING and INVESTING in something unique, massive, profitable and fulfilling. Attempt to get that distinction. This is about exploring the dynamic of who I am, who you are, what is possible, how to get there and enjoying the journey along the way. Quite a difference, is it not?
Secondly, working smart means being a master at MANAGING YOUR TIME. All millionaires have mastered the craft of efficient and disciplined time management. It is crucial to get this.
I didn’t get that distinction for years, and I’ve suffered for it as a result. When you truly understand that successfully managing your time is your greatest potential asset, you’ll automatically step into the shoes of a millionaire.
By the way, this is especially true if you are on a limited budget. Let’s say you are involved in a business opportunity of some sort, but don’t have much money to spend on advertising, say $500 per month. Your path to abundance lies in rolling up your sleeves and spending your TIME doing everything you can to increase revenue. I will go much more into detail about this in my blog here, but here are a few appetizers
Social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Groups, Myspace – if you know how to market here, they can be a goldmine. These are areas in which I create on a massive scale.
So instead of hard work, I’d say re-state it as “Massive Creation”. Perhaps that will be a bit more helpful to anyone who is averse to the “paying your dues” ethic as a cornerstone of their lives. Instead of working hard, why not “create on a massive scale” instead?
Besides, hard work implies pain of some sort. When you think of working hard, what does that stir up? Long hours, sweat, frustration, delay. This should be fun, fulfilling, beneficial and most importantly, something that feels right.
Me? I love this. I love writing blog posts like this because I feel they make a difference. I love creating my wacky Youtube videos because I feel they are entertaining and educational.
Creating something out of your own mind and hand is one of the more blessed experiences you can have. I truly believe it fulfills a deeper need we all have to make this world a better place.
Now you may say that no matter what, it does take hard work to succeed. Afterall, bodybuilders work hard to have rock solid bodies, don’t they? I acknowledge that and would agree.
However, being into fitness myself, a curious thing happens. When you work out hard and it becomes a part of your lifestyle, you begin LOVING the work, or the workout. You actually look forward to it, you relish the burn your muscles feel when lifting them. You WANT to collapse in a heap of sweat and exhaustion. It really is a curious thing.
The pleasure derives from pushing past your limits into something bigger, better and fulfilling. So am I working hard? From a certain point of view, sure. But from my point of view, I’m creating and INVESTING. Those inspire different feelings, don’t they?
So adopt the mentality of Creative Immersion or Massive Creation instead of “Hard Work”. There is nothing wrong with working hard, but why not approach it from a different angle on a feeling level? You will be amazed at what you can achieve if you do it like this.
P.S. I’ve also included a comprehensive BONUS educational system that will teach you, once and for all, to take control of your finances. This is no joke, folks – drop the dream chasing and learn what millionaires are doing to create (and keep) their fortunes. Compliments of the #1 marketing resource I use to learn my strategies. Mark Fletcher builds software, that’s just what he does. He may have sold the system that became Yahoo Groups for $400 million, and then made millions selling Bloglines to Ask.com as well, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop making software. And it’s not just any software he makes, either. Those two projects changed millions of peoples’ lives. Tomorrow morning Fletcher will unveil his newest creation, a lightweight group communication tool called SnapGroups. We first wrote about it two weeks ago but hadn’t been able to take a look until tonight. We’re happy to report that you’re probably going to like it a lot: it’s easy, it’s clear, it’s got good social design and it’s real time. Check out the screenshots below. Sponsor SnapGroups makes it really easy to create a group discussion around a particular topic, invite people, set variable privacy controls and then participate in that conversation as part of a whole “newsfeed” style stream of updates from all your various groups in…
He probably did each of them in a matter of minutes. It is made inside the game Spore, which allows you to create this stuff.

4 simple steps to get our country back in the hands of the people where it belongs:
1) Imprison the current President and all his co-conspirators — Sends a strong message to future psychopaths
2) Take away the FCC licenses of ALL current "mainstream" media outlets —- Freedom of the press was never intended to mean freedom of the press to engage in government propaganda, whitewashing and cover up.
3) Ban corporate ownership of all news media —–The conflict of interest is too self evident to even comment on.
4) Ban paperless voting machines —— for obvious reasons…….
The rest will take care of itself.

Facebook has been developed from the ground up using open source software, and we are proud to give back to the open source community through various open source projects.
HipHop for PHP
transforms PHP source code into highly optimized C++. HipHop offers large performance gains and was developed over the past two years.
Thrift
a framework for scalable cross-language services development. Thrift combines a powerful software stack with a code generation engine to build services that work efficiently and seamlessly between C++, Java, Python, PHP, and Ruby.
Scribe
a server for aggregating log data streamed in real time from a large number of servers. It is designed to be scalable, extensible without client-side modification, and robust to failure of the network or any specific machine.
Hive
a data warehouse infrastructure built on top of Hadoop that provides tools to enable easy data summarization, adhoc querying and analysis of large datasets data stored in Hadoop files.
Cassandra
a distributed storage system for managing structured data that is designed to scale to a very large size across many commodity servers, with no single point of failure. Reliability at massive scale is a very big challenge. At this scale, small and large components fail continuously. Cassandra manages the persistent state in the face of these failures drives the reliability and scalability of the software systems relying on this service.
memcached
a distributed memory object caching system. Memcached was not originally developed at Facebook, but we have become the largest user of memcached and actively contribute modifications back to the project. We have contributed substantial changes back to the project, boosting the software’s performance by over 20% and increasing its memory efficiency by over 30% while adding new functionality.
XHProf
a function-level hierarchical profiler for PHP with a simple HTML-based navigational interface. The raw data collection component is implemented in C (as a PHP extension). The reporting/UI layer is all in PHP. It is capable of reporting function-level inclusive and exclusive wall times, memory usage, CPU times and number of calls for each function. Additionally, it supports the ability to compare two runs (hierarchical DIFF reports), or aggregate results from multiple runs.
phpsh
an open source interactive shell for PHP that features readline history, tab completion, and quick access to documentation. It was developed at Facebook and ironically, is written mostly in Python. It has been useful for testing the codebase, inspection, and interactive scripting.
Public Patches Library
A collection of patches that enhance open source projects like PHP, Apache, etc.
Facebook Mirror
A public mirror for projects such as Apache, Linux, Mozilla, GNU, MySQL, and much more…
Tornado
a relatively simple, non-blocking web server framework written in Python. It’s designed to handle thousands of simultaneous connections, making it ideal for real-time Web services. Tornado is a core piece of infrastructure for FriendFeed.com.
XHP
is a PHP extension which augments the syntax of the language such that XML document fragments become valid PHP expressions.
Three20
is an Objective-C library for iPhone developers which provides many UI elements and data helpers behind our iPhone application.
Connect and Platform Libraries
Facebook developers maintain dozens of open source implementations of Facebook Connect and Platform client libraries, while Facebook’s engineering team maintains the official JavaScript, PHP, and iPhone SDKs.
codemod
a tool/library to assist you with large-scale codebase refactors that can be partially automated but still require human oversight and occasional intervention.
Facebook Animation
a JavaScript animation library for creating customizable animations using DOM and CSS manipulation
Facebook Open Platform
Facebook Open Platform is a snapshot of the infrastructure that runs Facebook Platform. It includes the API infrastructure, the FQL parser, the FBML parser, and FBJS, as well as implementations of many common methods and tags.
Facebook Firefox Toolbar
an extension that adds Facebook functionality to Firefox. This is an example of a client of the Facebook Platform. We are open to accepting patches for future versions – please send them to The source code is available here.
Facebook Exporter for iPhoto
a plugin that exports photos from iPhoto directly to Facebook, including captions and tags. This is an example of a client of Facebook Platform, in particular the photo upload API. We are open to accepting patches for future versions – please send them to The source code is available here.
flvtool++
a tool for hinting and manipulating the metadata of FLV files. It was originally created for our Video project for fast video hinting.
PHPEmbed
In order to make embedding PHP truly simple for all of our developers (and indeed the world) we developed this PHPEmbed library which is just a more accessible and simplified API built on top of the PHP SAPI.

“Grouply announced its Grouply on Facebook application, an app that leverages the Facebook Like button to provide personalized, real-time recommendations of relevant Yahoo! Groups, Google Groups, and Grouply Groups to Facebook’s 400 million active users. Current Grouply users also benefit from enhanced suggestions that consider their real-time ‘likes’ on thousands of sites around the web.
Grouply automatically runs personalized searches across 2.5 million deep-interest Yahoo! Groups, Google Groups and Grouply Groups, then uses semantic technology to list the groups that best match users real-time ‘likes’. Grouply also allows users to log in with their Facebook IDs, share groups with Facebook friends, share messages, and conduct “Group Smackdowns” that pit different “likes” against each other.”

I think Twitter reinforces that. Twitter is basically one massive ly connected and personalized cocktail party. But the deeper relationships are built in other places. Through blogging, *maybe* FriendFeed, and definitely via IRL interactions!”

You would be seeing the object as it was 14 years ago, 14 years probably isn't a major difference but with galaxies which are much farther out the time difference is much greater an example is the Andromeda Galaxy which is closest spiral galaxy to us is 2.5 million light years away so we see it like it was 2.5 million years ago and the farthest galaxies we see as they were Billions of years ago
Ok, let's break this down, point-for-point.
You asked:
"What are possible solutions to stop and lessen international electronic software piracy?"
There are three protocols currently employed to reduce the effects of global software piracy:
Software and Hardware Security Protocols: This include license keys, hardware keys, dongles, activation protocols and various authentication systems.
Domestic and International Copyright Laws: US Title 17 Section 101+ being the mainstay for US copyright law, works in concert with similar intellectual property laws, via the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). Along with civil remedies that are stout (and much more harsh than most lay people realize), these laws offer strict criminal penalties (up to 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine in the US).
Education: One of the best tools currently being explored are educational processes that convey the seriousness of copyright infringement, along with the consequences and penalties of copyright infringement.
You said:
"I'm looking for something along the lines of an international organization or public policy that could combat the effects of such piracy."
There are two "watchdog" trade organizations that address software piracy, at-large:
The Business Software Alliance (BSA). Their website can be found at
The other is the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). Their website can be found at
These groups are classified as "trade organizations." Their charters entail operational cores that include "education, lobbying and enforcement."
Labeled as "watchdog" groups, the BSA and SIIA are often criticized as "pitbull" groups that only work to enforce and expand the best interests of "big software" companies like Microsoft, Adobe and Autodesk, by persecuting the individuals and entities that do not maintain proper software licensing… and subsequently paying these companies every penny that they are owed.
Regardless of which "side" of the issue one may fall, the facts are this… The BSA and SIIA are formidable groups, that employ top-notch intellectual property attorneys to enforce their clients' rights under federal law.
You asked:
"Also, what would you say is the main cause, or what convinces people to pirate files and software, both on a small and massive scale?"
This is a massively broad question, such that there are several things that lead people to pirate software, and there is a scale that can be applied.
We'll start with the worst… the intentional pirates…
Intentional piracy, also known as "willful and wanton," is the result of greed and theft. The BSA recently began a campaign called "The Faces of Piracy." It covers 5 stories of software pirates who intentionally sold pirated software for profit. ( )
The rest fall into various categories of "usage piracy." These are individuals and entities that pirate software for their own use.
The "worst" of these types simply don't want to pay for the software, because they either can't pay, or simply won't.
A large, and unfortunate percentage of these types of users "accidentally" or "unknowingly" pirate software. These are users of software that do not properly license and/or duplicate software applications for their own use, that are "ignorant" of circumstance.
Common examples:
> Use of "freeware" in a business
> "Sharing" software with friends and family
> Being unware that employees have loaded software in your organization, without properly licensing the applications.
It is estimated that between 30% – 40% of all software currently in use is pirated. My group, Sadien Intellectual Property, believes that 70% of the pirated software currently in use, is done through course of simple naivete when regard to copyright and copyright laws.
You can see several of our videos on the subject at
Hope this helps…
